DentalGoodNews | February 2, 2026 – The Group Standard "Oral Health Management Specification" (T/CHC 2007-2026), led by Professor Luan Qingxian from Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology and jointly drafted by over 20 renowned domestic dental schools and related associations, was officially released by the China Health Care Association.
This Association Standard is the first in China to systematically define the terminology of oral health management, clarifying that oral health management is a process centered on prevention, involving monitoring, assessment, intervention, and follow-up for individuals or groups throughout their entire life cycle. The standard was drafted based on the National Key R&D Program project "Research on the Mechanism and Prevention Strategies of Periodontal Disease Development" (2023YFC2506300) and approved for release by the China Health Care Association.
The "Oral Health Management Specification" establishes 11 fundamental principles that oral health management should follow, covering core concepts such as "Prevention First and Early Intervention," "Full Life Cycle Coverage," "Personalization and Precision," and "Data-Driven Decision Making." In terms of scope, the standard clearly constructs a complete operational closed loop, forming a systematic management pathway from organizational structure, personnel competency training, and technical equipment management to risk assessment, health education, preventive intervention, and subsequent follow-up.
Regarding technical tools, the standard innovatively introduces two quantitative tools: one is the "Oral Health Management Maturity Assessment Tool" for institutions to conduct self-evaluations; the other is the "Oral Health Management Formatted Questionnaire," providing a standardized practical tool for practitioners. These tools may help dental medical institutions, community service centers, schools, and elderly care institutions ensure homogeneity and standardization when implementing oral health management.
According to previous reports by DGN, the Chinese Stomatological Association released 11 Group Standards in October 2025, covering clinical sub-fields such as dental implantology, orthodontics, and prosthodontics. This "Oral Health Management Specification" focuses on full life cycle preventive management, distinguishing itself from the direction of clinical operation standards covered by the former.
